Select around the project duty
The withdrawal and straightening machine is used on square- and rectangular-billet continuous casters to withdraw the strand and complete straightening. The official source page identifies withdrawal force, straightening force, speed regulation, section adaptability and cooling as key design considerations.
Working principle
Driven rolls grip and withdraw the strand from the caster while staged roll geometry applies the force needed to straighten it. Roll pressure, speed control and cooling are matched to the strand section, temperature and casting speed.
Metallurgical equipment selection is based on feed composition, production rate, process temperature, energy balance, refractory or wetted materials, emission control and plant integration.
Core features
- Withdrawal and straightening forces selected for the casting duty
- Drive system configured for the required speed regulation
- Roll arrangement, structure and cooling matched to the strand-section range
